The Cometic Cylinder Head Gasket is a proven upgrade for Mazda MX-5 NA and NB models with the 1.8 BP engine. Built from multiple layers of stainless steel, it delivers excellent sealing between the aluminium head and cast iron block, withstanding the shearing forces created under high load. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion, ensuring long-term durability even in demanding applications.

The outer layers are embossed and coated with Viton, a fluoroelastomer material designed for harsh sealing environments, while the centre layer is uncoated stainless steel. This design allows gasket thickness to be adjusted as required, providing flexibility for different engine builds and compression ratios.
